Several years ago my husband returned from a golf trip to Virginia. He seemed to have sunburned skin on his forearms and lower legs. When what we thought was simply sunburn became scaly, itchy, and began to spread to other parts of his body, we became more concerned. He eventually saw his usual dermatologist who prescribed a topical cream with cortizone and antihistamines. The “rash” continued to spread and became increasingly uncomfortable. After several visits, the Dermatologist sent him to Baylor College of Medicine where he saw a team of physicians. They prescribed a 21 day course of oral steroids. The rash seemed to improve, but as soon as the steroids were discontinued, the rash returned, eventually covering his body. The physicians said that he was experiencing some sort of auto-immune response. They offered an oral chemotherapy drug. After much urging, he contacted Erin Thole, who immediately recommended tests to attempt to identify the cause of the auto-immune response instead of simply treating the symptoms. She was able to identify a number of foods and a topical products which were producing inflammation in his body. We eliminated the “offending” foods and soaps, shampoos, sunscreens, etc. Erin also prescribed supplements to support his body to function more optimally to heal itself. Over the next few weeks and months, he experienced marked improvement. He also lost weight and lowered his blood pressure.

We may never know what triggered this auto-immune process in the first place…sun poisoning? chemicals sprayed on the plants around the golf course? But what we do know is that his skin was healed. Although he has not completely eliminated all of the potentially inflammatory foods, he is certainly more cautious about what he eats.

In February 2020, my daughter and I received breast cancer diagnoses just 5 days apart, after routine mammogram screenings. Genetic testing did not reveal any inherited risk factors. My cancer was lobular and my daughter’s was ductile.
As the pandemic was looming and healthcare for other than covid-19 related illness was becoming limited, I searched for alternative therapies. I immediately called Erin Thole to explore what we could each do to complement any traditional medical approaches to breast cancer.

Erin recommended several tests to determine the status of cellular and system functioning in my body. She recommended dietary changes and supplements. I chose to eat a mostly plant based diet since my diagnosis. Erin also recommended various stress management techniques. I lost weight easily, without sacrifice.

I did elect to have the small cancerous tumor removed on March 25, one day prior to elective surgery shut-down in Texas. I had no identified lymph node involvement. Unfortunately, the surgeon did not place a drain in the wound. A rather large hematoma formed in my breast, which could not be treated “virtually”. At an in-person appointment 2 weeks later, the surgeon drained the hematoma and eventually placed a drain for several more days, but not before a capsule had formed, leaving a lump of tissue in the breast. Although chemotherapy is not useful in treating lobular cancer, the surgeon did recommend radiation. The Radiologist stated that I would need to wait until the capsule of tissue was “absorbed” through normal body processes prior to radiation. Erin offered a number of therapies for aiding this natural process.

After several appointments, I elected not to have radiation. I am now 1 year cancer free without radiation or aromatase inhibitors, according to MRI and exam. All of my lab values are within normal limits.

I credit Erin and her recommended therapies and supplements which have supported by body to function as it was intended to do….to heal itself. I will continue to follow her recommendations and will also keep my twice a year follow-up traditional medicine appointments to confirm our success!

I started working with Erin because over a few years of observing my body’s changing responses to the food I was eating; I noticed that every time I drank beer I felt bloated for days, and I could tell my body wasn’t taking well to meat of any kind. My system was sluggish and something just seemed “off”. Since I already knew my dad had some food allergies, I wanted to thoroughly explore any possible food allergies of my own along with a completely new approach to nutrition.

By the time I called Erin, I was prepared to make any changes necessary to feel better and set myself up for long-term health. Over two years later, I am confident that the long-term changes I’ve made to what I eat (and what I don’t) have been life-giving. I had to make a lot of adjustments, and there was certainly a period where it took a lot of work to eat and drink things that my body will agree with, but I was committed to the goal AND to only eat things I enjoy eating. I’ve reconsidered all childhood food aversions, and while a few remain, many have reversed (now that I know how to prepare them properly…I’m looking at you, Brussels sprouts).

I was already somewhat active, with a consistent habit of Pilates classes 3 times per week. Having changed only my food habits, I lost ~45 pounds. It has been an incredible transformation, both physically and mentally. I feel better than I ever have in my adult life, and I’ve never been more fit. The changes I’ve made thanks to working with Erin are definitely life-long changes, and I’m so thankful I found her.

I would absolutely recommend Erin to anyone looking for ways to improve health through an honest and thorough review of the way you nourish your body.

I began working with a naturopathic doctor about three years ago, and after that I  was under the care of a functional medicine MD, but I was frustrated with my  progress. Then I met Erin Thole. I knew from the moment that I began talking  with her, she was in a completely different league from the other doctors. She  listened to me, cared about me, and gave me expert advice.

After running tests and adjusting some supplements that I was taking, I feel like I am finally on  the road toward optimal health.

Erin is extremely knowledgeable, and her advice is solid. She is readily assessable and her compassion is obvious; you can tell she truly cares about her patients. I feel like we are a team, working together  to make the healthiest version of me that we can. I feel blessed to have found  Erin!

I had been struggling with sinus and asthma for the past 2 years. I have a sinus disease which has led to extreme inflammation in sinus cavities and lungs. I have been on prednisone for the past 2 years to help control the inflammation.

I recently found out that I am sensitive to certain foods and spices which have contributed to the problems I have been experiencing.

This project has helped me get back control of my health. I have learned how eating the right foods combined with exercise can completely transform how a person feels, both mentally and physically. I have also learned that there are alternatives to over the counter medicines and prescription drugs that are much better for you and provide the same effect on your body.

Erin has been a great teacher and life coach. Erin is very knowledgeable about the human body, health and diseases. Her enthusiasm, patience and experience has made my experience a very enjoyable one.

Because of The Whole Health Project I was able to say good bye to: excess weight, bloating, food cravings, poor sleep, digestive issues, mood swings, the inability to gain muscle and strength and joint and muscle pain.

I had also experience a lot of inflammation from the sinus disease and asthma. By eating the right foods recommended by Erin, over the past 3 months, the inflammation has decreased tremendously which has made my asthma go away.

I am a healthier person today because of the The Whole Health Project. I have lost 40 pounds since in the past 3 months and all of my health issues have improved dramatically, my emotional state has improved, sex life has come back....I am just a whole new person.

If you are considering working with Erin I would tell you to give it a try. It will change your life completely.

I had Leaky Gut Syndrome and weight gain and I couldn't find a doctor or a solution that allowed me to get healthy and everyone just wanted to give me medications to cover symptoms and not fix my actual health problems.

I had tried many different things including: prescription drugs, over the counter drugs, supplements and various diets to try to alleviate my health conditions on my own.

What I love most about The Whole Health Project is that it is tailored to you and your specific needs and wants.

What I loved most about working with Erin Thole is that she is there for you whenever you need her! She's got tons of ideas when things don't seem to be straight forward and she introduces you to lots of resources and knowledge. She brought together various aspects I had a hard time connecting on my own.

With The Whole Health Project and Erin Thole I was able to say good bye to:

  • bloating

  • excess weight

  • skin issues

  • poor sleep

  • food cravings

  • fatigue

  • digestive issues.

My life and health are better today because of The Whole Health Project and Erin Thole because I feel like I have the tools I need to accomplish my heath goals.
